Review 2003 Grand-Prix Series - The Great Weight Race
Venue Morton Stadium, Santry
Date Thursday 15th, May  2003
The Great Weight Race (3000m track) went very well for all concerned and as usual for this event the handicappers used height, weight and age to come up with the handicap for each runner.   This of course leads to some interesting results and can 'set the cat among the pigeons' a bit during the Grand-Prix competition!   Well done to Tom Griffin with fastest overall to win race A in 09:48,  second place went to Dave Brennan - great to see Dave back competing so well in 10:01 and third went to Gerry McCabe in 10:06.   The second race (B) was won by Séamus Greenan in 10:61, second was on-form Richard Connolly in 10:58 and in third place Pat Healy with 11:15.  Even Noel Guiden put down the clip-board and got back running to finish in a respectable 10:58, getting a place on the grand-prix leaderboard.

Congratulations to Tom Flood on winning the handicap.

The handicapping as always, was done by Jim Cleary with Guiden and Pat Bonass. Well done everybody.
