Feb 13, 2006 [Killian Lonergan] With Joe's texts reminding us over and over again of our meeting time at the airport and more importantly not to forget our passports there was less worry about airport mishaps than usual! Colm's pint sized bag was the only surprise - how he managed to fit a weekend of running gear, not to mention ordinary clothes and toiletries into that, we'll never know!

| GERRY McINTYRE |
|
Feb 6, 2006 [Noel Guiden] The Club are sad to announce that Clonliffe’s Gerry McIntyre passed away at his home in England last week. Gerry was a Clonliffe Olympian having represented Ireland in the Marathon at the 1960 Olympics held in Rome, the Rome Marathon of course was won by the great barefoot Ethiopian Abebe Bikila in the first fully televised Olympic Games. Gerry was a Clonliffe life member and was a great supporter of his club, participating in a vast number of club races and club championship events, he was always held in the highest esteem by his friends and fellow club mates at Clonliffe Harriers. May he rest in peace.

| The Snow Queen – Aisling Coppinger in her own write |
|
Feb 3, 2006 [Aisling] Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, fig rolls, fruit cake, orange slices, chocolate bars, cakes and sweet things of all varieties, water………………….. no that wasn’t the lunch menu on our trip to France, that was refreshments at the water stations during our Trail Blanch mountain experience last Saturday 22nd Jan. 2006. Liamo reckoned we’d put on weight! And he would have been right if it wasn’t that this turned out to be one of the toughest mounting running (any running!) experiences I’ve ever encountered. If we thought that a nice 20 mile amble through some light snowy tracks was ahead of us when we signed up, we were in for a shock!
