JIMMY BENNETT COLLECTS INTERNATIONAL TEAM SILVER MEDAL

Clonliffe’s Jimmy Bennett won team Silver in the Men’s O/65 category at the Behan & Associates British and Irish Masters International Cross Country held at Santry Demesne on Saturday the 12th of November. The International race also included Clonliffe’s Pat Bonass running on the Irish Men’s O/60’s team however unfortunately they placed outside of the medals.

 
CLASSY ROBERT COSTELLO LEADS DSD TO DUBLIN TITLE WITH CLONLIFFE PLACING THIRD

The Dublin Senior Cross Country Championships took place at Santry Demesne on the 13th of November, Clonliffe were of course defending champions however, unfortunately for a variety of reasons we were deprived of a number of our athletes, despite this however the lads put up a spirited defence of their title with a superb performance from Gary O’Hanlon to claim individual bronze and lead the team to team bronze. - MORE....

Our marathoners did us proud in this years Dublin City Marathon held in extremely difficult conditions on the 31st of October. Pride of place goes to Patrice Dockery, 1st in the Women’s Wheelchair race, Caroline Dobbyn 3rd in Ladies National Marathon and Eddie Coughlan with his 2:39 time. - MORE....

Clonliffe juvenile coach, Ronan Mulveny, in his comeback race performed superbly in the Walker Cup 4 Mile track race held on Thursday the 6th of October to claim victory in this prestigious event. This was indeed an auspicious occasion being the 40th running of the Walker Cup which was donated to the club in 1966 by the Walker family who were once again represented by Frazier Walker and again Frazier was the race sponsor. This was also round 13 in the 2005 Grand Prix series. - MORE....

CLONLIFFE FINISH 3RD IN NATIONAL TRACK AND FIELD LEAGUE

Club Captain Joe Cooper deserves great credit for the Club’s performance in the National Leagues – Premier Division competition held over the summer months. The final round of which took place in Tullamore on Sunday the 21st of August resulting in the Club’s best performance for some years in finishing 3rd in the men’s competition.
