Jun 13, 2004 [Aidan] Clonliffe Harrier athletes had a fantastic night out on Friday night, despite pretty rough conditions. It was a well-earned result with the amount of hard work being put in by the athletes and given the ages of some of them it looks like a good future for sprinting in Clonliffe.

Mar 21, 2004 [Aidan] What a fantastic series of Cross-Country races on we've seen over the weekend. Bekele has set a wonderful record with winning the short-course and long-course, three years in a row. It is difficult to find words to describe this athlete, he must surely be challenging Gebresellassie for the title of the best-ever distance runner. His form is certainly going the right way for the olympics later this year. He did say, however, that he'd be happy never to run cross-country again, that he has made history and is content with that. It should be remembered that his team have also set records and second-placed Gebremariam won silver yesterday also and the Ethiopian team broke Kenya's 18 year run of possession of the world title with this emphatic win.

| Clonliffe Harriers Senior Mens team win National Inter-Club C.C. |
Feb 22, 2004 [Aidan] Clonliffe Harriers Senior Mens team won the National Inter-Club long-course Cross Country Championships held today in Roscommon. The course lent itself to fast racing over the 12k despite the blustery weather. The team included a back-on-form Killian Lonergan who stuck with the breakaway group of six to come in 5th, Cian McLoughlin ran a fantastic last couple of laps to move up from 10th place to finish 7th, Paolo Doglio 12th and Rory Byrne who came in 17th. Gary O'Hanlon was outside the scoring with what was an excellent 19th place when you consider he was recently suffering with an achilles tendon problem. First place went to 4-time winner Seamus Power, with Dermot Donnelly second and Peter Mathews third. Raheny's Mark Kenneally was 4th just ahead of Killian. The rest of the team were William Stafford, Kevin English and Nigel Brunton.
